Tehran is willing to reinitiate atomic discussions with Washington on condition that it is approached with "dignity" and "respect", Tehran's top diplomat has declared.

Abbas Araghchi stated only diplomacy worked, and shared fresh requests had been made by go-betweens to restart discussions with the US government. He said Iran had zero undeclared nuclear sites, and Iran was not yet able to authorize the global atomic watchdog to inspect struck enrichment centers for protective measures.

Navigating a Challenging Route

The foreign minister is walking a difficult path since Iran wishes not to be perceived to be operating from a stance of vulnerability, and he consistently maintained that Iran had emerged more powerful militarily and psychologically from the joint assault on its enrichment centers in June.

He was talking at a strategic meeting in Tehran where he reiterated that Iran had "an inalienable right to enrich uranium within its borders that it will always maintain" – the key factor of the stalemate in the prior discussions.

Prior Negotiations Abruptly Terminated

The earlier sessions of discussions between the US and Iran were concluded unexpectedly and bitter conclusion on 12 June when Israel, with Washington's assistance, struck Iranian nuclear sites in a two-week conflict that concluded with the American leader claiming the sites had been obliterated. Following this, EU nations used their authority to restore global restrictions, but Iran asserts they have not had a major impact.

In what is described by Iran's diplomats as the conflict of repair and rebuilding, the foreign minister said he was confident Iran's security strengths "have significantly improved than preceding 13 or 14 June of this year. All our capabilities have been restored. We gained multiple understandings from this engagement; we have come to know our personal limitations and the weaknesses of the opponent."

He added: "We managed to survive this engagement. Our nuclear technology, which they planned to eliminate, remains in place. The sites and equipment, if damaged, will be rebuilt; what is crucial is the will of the Iranian people and then the social solidarity that they aimed at, but were unable to break. The Iranian people have developed more resilient, more united, and more supportive of the government and the country in the wake of this assault."
