Christantus Uche Ignites Comfortable Palace Win at Irish Side Shelbourne.
Even though entering their first-ever European adventure, Crystal Palace are adapting very quickly. Missing star players like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the London club left Dublin with a comfortable win that all but secures them a spot in the Conference League playoffs.
Another victory in their next match against Finnish KuPS should be enough to secure direct entry to the knockout stages, particularly after a previous setback against Strasbourg.
Fringe Players Grasp the Moment
This match offered a platform for several Palace's lesser-used players to shine. Christantus Uche, in only his second beginning after arriving on loan from Getafe, notched the scoring with a clinical goal. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a another, finding the net for the second game in succession.
The Shelbourne side that had concluded their league season proved outmatched against a largely second-string Palace outfit. The visitors were further depleted by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are out with knee injuries.

The contest was as good as over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past a series of weak challenges before calmly dispatching a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.
After the break, manager Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to withdraw several players like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring his very first touch, only to see his shot blocked.
Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot strike off both posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also missed a glaring chance, indicating there is still scope for development in his game.
A solitary concern for Palace was a late knock to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This allowed 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to earn his senior debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect evening for the traveling side.
