It's difficult for Australia to break new ground.

The highest peaks have already been conquered.

This is the unit that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to another six T20 titles, and earlier maintained 1,294 days without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, those for the record chasers, are what's still available for a side that has achieved everything.

It needed up to Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the largest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, honestly, a tribute to the bowlers that have sported the yellow jersey over five decades.

It's difficult for their batsmen to maintain a record if not afforded the possibility.

That loss "pushed us to reevaluate our levels," Healy commented earlier.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the title decider and was awarded tournament MVP. She ensured her country would not come up short.

Whether this recent magnificent innings exceeded that prior achievement remains open for discussion.

Some will argue the case for championship match pressure. Others can counter with the difficulty that comes when confronting a historic chase and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's clear is this century was considerably tougher to see coming.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 happened while she topped the run-scoring charts, but this innings came after six matches in India over the past few weeks in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it has been a disappointing period because I feel like I've had no rhythm at all," commented Healy.

"However when you enter the playing area, your fighting spirit take over and you completely engage with the contest."

Healy's competitive nature has consistently been her key asset - and a priceless quality in succeeding legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, dismissed by the 22-year-old seamer in every game, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's motivation.

A single was taken off Gaud's first delivery and after that Healy was in motion.

"An opportunity to take the field and engage in competition with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, kind of motivated me," stated Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 balls - her quickest at the global tournament - and her hundred in 84 as she flogged anything short, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

By the time she was dismissed her side needed 66 more at run per delivery - an unconquered height now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Pursuing 330 is unfamiliar ground so I am glad we have the assurance to do that now," stated Healy further.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it again but, should it happen, we know we can achieve it."

These statements will be the last rival teams at this World Cup should hear.

In recent days a feeling they will triumph from any situation has grown stronger - this success succeeding win against Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a meeting with old rivals England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final place may likely be confirmed.

During that phase they left the previous year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a match Healy couldn't play because of damaged tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the inaugural occasion at a major tournament.

So strong is her resolve, she subsequently stated she wanted to have participated with the discomfort.

Yet even as she later admitted those physical issues have delayed thoughts of retirement, this World Cup is likely to be her concluding event as leader in 50-over cricket and she is yet to win an international tournament as skipper.

Victory in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
